Brief explanation The story of a bonze is very famous as follows: the bonze was not able to attain spiritual enlightenment, so he started to sit in meditation (Zazen) during 7 days without sleeping. Nevertheless it was not possible in vain. The moment he cleared his mind, the voice of a hen rang in the dark. At that moment, he could attain his spiritual enlightenment. It is a very famous Zen phrase.
