No Merit

Japanese : Mukudoku
Brief explanation ; It is a conversation of the Zen founder, Dharma, and a Chinese emperor. Emperor: "I have constructed many temples and educated many priest. Which merit shall I gain?" Dharma: "No merit!". It is said that to gain a merit, any good deed is useless. In Zen, we admonish against doing conspicuous acts. Such like the act of this emperor, an egocentric and nothing more. We must do a good deed silently.
